Marriage
Marriage is the sacrament by which couples promise perpetual, exclusive, and fruitful fidelity to each other for the rest of their lives.
Perpetual: the promise to be married until death
Exclusive: the promise to be married to one person and no other
Fruitful: the promise to be open to having children
By making these promises in the presence of a priest, a bond is formed between the couple that unites them for the rest of their lives.
The sacrament of marriage must take place within the Catholic Church if at least one of the partners is a baptized Catholic. This means that a mixed marriage between a Catholic and non-Catholic must take place within the Catholic Church.
Couples wishing to get married at St. Michael’s need to:
1. Contact Father Jerzy at least 9-12 months in advance.
2. Come for an interview at the parish office.
